Bridges
The Diagnosis
Bridges are diagnosed when a patient wishes to fill a void created by a missing tooth. Most commonly, the void consists of one to two teeth and teeth are present on either side of the space.
The alternative to a bridge is an implant. Implants are generally regarded as the better treatment. Cost is the usual reason bridges are chosen but implants can be the cheaper option depending on the case.
The Treatment
The treatment for a bridge consists of preparing the teeth in front of and behind the space for a crown. An impression is taken and sent to the lab for fabrication.
